Salmonberry Corridor Master Plan Listening Post to be Held

Banks- The Salmonberry Corridor Master Plan will hold a listening post on December 3rd from 5:30-7pm in Tillamook at the Oregon Department of Forestry office and a listening post on December 4th in Banks at the Banks Fire Hall from 6-7:30pm.  The listening posts will give adjacent landowners and the general public an opportunity to voice comments, questions and concerns as the Salmonberry Corridor Master Plan is drafted.  In a previous article, the Gales Creek Journal covered a public meeting concerning the trail that was held in September.  The next round of public meetings is scheduled to be held in January 2014.

The master plan is a long-term plan to guide future resource management and recreational uses along the corridor. In the planning for the corridor, the planning team is taking a comprehensive look at natural, scenic and cultural resource conditions; corridor management needs; outdoor recreation trends in the region; community partnerships; and any related ideas and concerns identified through public input. –Rocky Houston, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department
