Oregon – More favorable weather conditions have allowed firefighters at the Eagle Creek Fire in the Columbia River Gorge to contain 7% of the perimeter around the fire. The Eagle Creek fire, which merged with the older Indian Creek fire, is now over 33,000 acres. We’ve received video footage of the area from Gales Creek resident Dan Lepschat, as well as photos of the Chetco Bar Fire near Brookings from Hillsboro resident and Oregon National Guard soldier Thomas Luttrell. The Chetco Bar Fire is the largest wildfire in Oregon right now, burning at over 182,000 acres with 5% of the perimeter contained.
