Gales Creek Neighborhood Watch seeks volunteers for National Night Out

Gales Creek – Citing an aging volunteer base and a desire to involve newcomers to the Gales Creek area in community events, the organizers behind Gales Creek’s popular National Night Out (held August 7 this year) are seeking volunteers to help with this year’s community event.

“For 13 years many of us have been involved and helping with the same general jobs. We are all getting older and we have new people living in our valley,” read a statement from the heads of Gales Creek’s Neighborhood Watch, Joyce Sauber and Sharon Boge.

To get volunteers involved, an informational meeting at the Gales Creek school library has been set for Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m.

Other community organizations will also be at the meeting seeking volunteers, including the Gales Creek Chamber of Commerce, which is looking for local residents to assist with the upcoming 52nd annual Strawberry Festival on June 9.

Those interested in volunteering for National Night Out can call Sharon Boge at 503-357-7688 for more information.

The Gales Creek School is located at 9125 NW Sargent Rd, Gales Creek, OR 97117.
