Gales Creek – The holiday season started on November 14th with the annual Gales Creek Holiday Bazaar. Drawing crowds from Gales Creek, Forest Grove, and beyond, 16 vendors sold handmade and vintage crafts all day in the Gales Creek Elementary School gym.
The bazaar, also featuring a bake sale sponsored by the Gales Creek Church Ladies Group, is a long standing tradition in the Gales Creek community, drawing vendors and visitors from all over the region to celebrate local, handcrafted goods and the holiday season. Sandi Evans of Honeypie Creations, says she has been coming to the bazaar for about 15 years and considers it one of the best bazaars around.
The bazaar continues to be a draw, even with competition from bazaars in Forest Grove and Dilley. In fact, due to Google Maps listing the location of the Gales Creek Elementary school at the location of Dilley Elementary School, two vendors for the Gales Creek Bazaar ended up setting up shop at the wrong bazaar in Dilley instead of Gales Creek.
