Updated article here.

Tillamook State Forest- A vehicle crashed near mile post 35 on the Wilson River Highway, and the driver, who may be intoxicated according to the Washington County Sheriff Office, fled the scene. At the time of this article’s publishing, the driver was still at large.

According to deputy Robert Rookhuyzen, a public information officer with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the driver had last been seen going down an embankment off of the highway, and was being tracked with K9 units in a nearby body of water.

The vehicle involved in the crash, an Acura Integra, had damage consistent with stolen vehicles, leading deputies to believe the vehicle may have been stolen. Deputies in Tillamook County, where the owner of the vehicle is registered, have been contacted to see if the vehicle was, indeed, a stolen car.

The crash was called in just after 9:20 p.m., with multiple agencies responding, including Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, Banks Fire District #13, Washington County SHeriff’s Office, and Metro West Ambulance.

This is a developing story; more information will be added as it becomes known.
