Canadian woman dies in motorcycle crash near Coast Range summit

Tillamook State Forest – A Canadian woman involved in a two vehicle crash near Glenwood died yesterday evening in a Portland hospital, according to Oregon State Police.

Around 12:55 p.m. on August 16, Oregon State Police troopers responded to a two vehicle crash near the summit of the Coast Range on Highway 6.

According to an investigation of the crash, Janene Tailleur, 49, from Edmonton, Alberta was traveling east on her 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle when she lost control of the vehicle on a curve to the right. Her motorcycle tipped onto its right side and slid across the center line into the westbound lane of travel. Both Tailleur and the motorcycle were struck by a westbound 2014 Ford F150 pickup occupied by a family of four, including two children.

Trailleur was taken to OHSU by Lifeflight with serious injuries, where she died the evening of August 16. None of the occupants of the Ford pickup were injured.

Other agencies that responded to the crash included Tillamook Fire District and Banks Fire District.
