Glenwood store opens under new owners

The Glenwood Store is open. Dubbed the “Glenwood Food Mart” by owners Robin and Kamal, the spot on the side of the Wilson River Highway in Glenwood has sat empty for a few years after an effort by the previous owner to launch a cannabis dispensary proved unfruitful and ended with the closure of the longstanding convenience store. Now, the couple, who are leasing the building to run their convenience store, are busy adding new items and spreading the word that they are open for business.

The store’s launched near the beginning of October, opening to customers with a few spots still bare on the shelves, with more items on the way.

A 10-year dream in the making, the two have had experience in managing similar operations, but this is the first business they’ve been able to call their own. Inside, you’ll find traditional convenience fare – snacks, soda, 11 doors of craft and domestic beer, wine, some camping items and dry goods, milk, cigarettes, and tobacco products, and more, rounded out by a beer cave in the back of the store. Robin noted that he plans to add fishing supplies, more food options, and more as the store grows and items become available.

Currently, store hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, though that may be changed depending on customer demand. Also on site is an ATM, campfire wood, bagged ice, and drink mixers. The Glenwood Market is located at 57975 NW Wilson River Hwy.

Additional information, such as a listing on Google maps and other social media sites, is being developed, Robin said.
