Ballots to be mailed in one week for May election

Washington County – In one week, the Washington County Elections Division will mail out ballots for the May 16, 2017 regular district election. Voters in the area will be asked to elect directors to fill positions in school and fire boards, and vote on a local option levy renewal to maintain enhanced police services. As always, the Gales Creek Journal does not endorse ballot measures or candidates; you can refer to our policy here. The deadline to register to vote is April 25, and can be done online or by mail (.pdf).  A candidates forum for the Forest Grove School Board will be held on April 12th at 7 pm at the Gales Creek Church.

Forest Grove Rural Fire District
Director Position 1: Clarence (Cleo) Howell (incumbent)
Director Position 3: Terry Lewis

Forest Grove School District
Director Position 1: John Hayes (incumbent), Brad Bafaro
Director Position 2: Charless L Waterman (incumbent), Fallon Harris, Valyrie Ingram
Director Position 3: Lonnie Winkler (incumbent), Mark Everett
